Along with fellow mod Moon, Mitch Mitchell was one of the true musical madmen of the drums. He died two days ago at age 61.
Mitchell, of course, played alongside bassist Noel Redding and guitarist extraordinaire Jimi Hendrix in the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Take a listen to a few of my favorite examples of Mitchell’s drumming and head over to youtube for video evidence of his greatness.

oh no =( another one. rip. he was badass. to be honest i assumed he was dead already. i’m just glad he left us with these perfect songs. as soon as the drums in my head stop kicking, i’ll remember him by blasting this stuff.
(btw- moral orel ! right? i love it. too bad it’s canceled).
